It's about living.
Now I know, creating is how I connect with the moment. I’ve wondered for a long time how I was going to find my way back to myself after this messy and beautiful leap through early childhood with my kids. Like I transformed into a different person or something, just waiting for the time I got to be a child again. It has been 14 years since I’ve been a full time artist and I realize now, creativity doesn't sleep. The things I've made over the years have looked different, but the process is the same; fill a need, connect, enjoy. It turns out, I never took a break. I adapted, and loved all the little moments connecting my heart to my craft through my family.
BIO
Kim graduated with a BA in Fine arts with focuses in Drawing, Painting and Art History. In her earlier years she worked as a photographer capturing weddings, families and pets. She then transitioned into a full time oil portrait artist with the support of her husband. Since having kids, her creative focus has been to create magical experiences for her children. Just recently she has returned to her easel to explore this new stage of life at her current studio in Edina, MN.
